This is cost of inefficiency, theft and loss which KE wants to recover from those honest consumers who have been paying regular bills.

The power regulator is going to conduct a hearing following the submission of Additional Write-Off Claims worth Rs. 8.131 billion by KE. They are in addition to the previously submitted claims amounting to Rs. 67.902 billion bringing the total to Rs. 76.033 billion.

As the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is all set to rehear the petition of K-Electric (KE) for additional write–off claims, one of the well-versed consumers, Arif Bilwani has requested the Authority to ensure the availability of consumers’ data for meaningful analysis and submission of comments on the petition.
